VMC® Hover Jig: Floats like a Balloon, Gets Popped by Fish

Pop quiz: What floats like a balloon and gets popped by fish? VMC’s new Hover Jig, of course.

Featuring a precision-balanced, floating jig-head, the VMC® Hover Jig floats with its hook pointing upwards – rather than downwards, as do most other floating jigs. This simple design feature will help walleye anglers put more fish in the boat.

“It’s going to hook those walleyes in the roof of their mouth,” explained Tony Roach, an in-demand walleye guide on Minnesota’s famed Mille Lacs Lake. “And that makes it much harder for them to shake it. In other words, more fish in your boat.”

The VMC Hover Jig floats your live minnow, nightcrawler or leech about six inches above the lake or river bottom. Attach a split-shot weight to your line three to four feet above your Hover Jig, and then add a 1/4 oz. to 3/8 oz. sliding sinker above that for guaranteed action.

VMC Hover Jigs are available in ten color patterns, four of which feature UV Bright finishes that reflect increased light energy to maximize visibility. The color patterns include blue fire UV (sky-blue top with black stripes, chartreuse sides, white belly) chartreuse, chartreuse orange, fathead (black top, white sides and belly, red belly accent), firetiger (black/lime-green top, chartreuse sides and belly, orange belly accent), green fire UV (lime-green top with black stripes, chartreuse sides, white belly), glow, orange fire UV (orange top with black stripes, chartreuse sides, white belly), pink fire UV (pink top with black stripes, chartreuse sides, white belly) and white.

Made from forged, premium high-carbon steel with a needle point, VMC Hover Jig hooks include a built-in trailer-hook loop. Hover Jigs are armed with a 1/0 VMC hook and come 4-per-pack in a single-color pattern, 10-per-pack in assorted colors and 10-per-pack in assorted UV colors.
