A bait that brought Jacob Wheeler some big wins is now available in a mid-sized model. Storm® now offers its Largo Shad® soft swimbait in a 3-½ inch body, complementing its line-up of 3- and 4-inch models.
Swimming with a slow body roll and an exaggerated tail swing, Storm Largo Shads feature boot-tails that produce strike-inducing action on both the retrieve and during free fall.
“They’ve got a great shimmy and thump right out of the box,” said Rapala® Pro Jacob Wheeler, who worked closely with Storm to perfect both the Largo Shad’s action and color patterns.
A rare combination of durability and fish-enticing action make the Largo Shad Wheeler’s go-to soft swimbait. Made from premium phthalate-free plastic enhanced with two- and three-color injection molding, they’re impressively more durable than many one-and-done soft swimbaits that make a mess on the decks of other anglers’ boats. They feature a solid head and strategically placed belly and back grooves for easy, weedless rigging.
Although the Largo Shad was originally released as saltwater bait in Storm’s 360GT Coastal collection, Wheeler quickly put them to work in freshwater, catching big bass in big-time tournaments. Wheeler caught key bass with Largo Shads when he won both the 2019 Major League Fishing Challenge Cup on North Carolina’s Badin Lake, and a 2019 Major League Fishing Bass Pro tournament on Missouri’s Table Rock Lake.
The new 3-½ inch Storm Largo Shad bodies come six per pack in 16 baitfish-matching color patterns. For best results, rig a Largo Shad on a VMC® Hybrid Swimbait Jig, VMC® Heavy Duty Swimbait Hook, VMC® Heavy Duty Weighted Willow Swimbait Hook or VMC® Tokyo Rig.
